The Taguig City government reported 506 recoveries among the COVID-19 cases in the two areas in the city where a localized quarantine was declared.
Mayor Lino Cayetano said that none of the cases resulted in death although the localized quarantine will still be in effect in these areas until the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CEDSU) declares these as cleared.
This 100% recovery rate among the cases that originated in the BGC construction site (394 cases and recoveries) in Brgy. Fort Bonifacio and Dalampasigan Area in Purok 5 and Mauling Creek,I. Reyes and Barangay Street in Purok 6 (112 cases and recoveries) in Brgy. Lower Bicutan proves that the implementation of a localized quarantine is effective in isolating the virus without compromising economic recovery, said the Mayor.
“We will continue to refine and perfect this to effectively contain the virus in the city,” said Cayetano.
The local government also acknowledged the Taguig citizens and stakeholders including the Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC), Bonifacio Estate Services Corporation (BESC), the Taguig PNP, barangay leaders of Fort Bonifacio and Lower Bicutan, health workers and frontliners for their exemplary work and cooperation.
“The threat of an outbreak would not have been contained if not for the malasakit and bayanihan offered by the community,” Cayetano added.
