NAKIKIPAGNEGOSASYON ang DITO Telecommunity sa Department of Education para sa pagtatao ng base stations sa mga pampublikong paaralan.
“Once approved, the third telco would be able to build facilities within school premises while providing the education department access to “immediate internet connection,” saad ni DITO chief technology officer Rodolfo Santiago.
Ipinaliwanag ni Santiago na ang layun ng kanilang proposal na makatulong sa ipatutupad na blended at distance learning sa pagbubukas ng klase sa October 5.
“We’re negotiating with DepEd to allow us to co-locate our base stations in some of their facilities. We’re hoping that this is a mutual opportunity because we would be able to provide coverage to areas that will need it. DepEd on the other hand will have immediate connection and immediate internet service,” giit ni Santiago.
Kinumpirma naman ng DepEd na natanggap na nila ang proposal at bukas sila dito subalit kailangan ng ibayong pag-iingat at kailangang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga estudyante at guro.
Inihayag din ng DepEd na sa ngayon ay pinag-aaralan na ng kanilang Legal Affairs ang mga proposal mula sa DITO Telecommunity, Globe Telecom at common tower builder ISOC.
“The common proposal there, is to co-locate their towers inside the schools…We are open for such kinds of agreement, as long as the safety of students, teachers and personnel, that’s number one non-negotiable ‘yan [the] safety consideration,” saad ng DepEd.
